Sharpie Marker Art

The other day we had a family craft session with my mom and daughter. We just love this time to get together and let our creative juices flow. I have been dying to use my Sharpies to make some Sharpie Marker art for a project ever since I bought the assortment on sale a few weeks ago.

I have to confess that I have a passion for colored markers and own several sets, but these were going to help me come up with some easy and cheap 4th of July decor.

I found these buckets at Target the other day in the dollar spot, but you can find them at dollar stores You may remember these buckets when I hosted a bucket list party last year, or when I made those cute Valentine gift sets? They are just so cute and so versatile, and these white ones just begged to be decorated.

Now it was time to make some cool sharpie drawings on the buckets. We got a little inspiration from this book that I received for review recently from the publisher. Your Sharpie Style by Deborah Green offers 75 original Sharpie craft projects!

This sharpie art book has lots of ideas for decorating with markers!

It is filled with lots of cute ideas for decorating with sharpies. We started decorating our buckets and they came out so cute! They were also really easy to make which is my kind of craft.

We didn’t stop there. Perhaps you may remember that time I made the DIY Sharpie mug for Valentine’s Day? Well we decided to do it again for summer.

We baked the ceramic mugs in the oven at 400° for 40 minutes to set, per the instructions in the book. While I received the book for review, this post is not sponsored by Sharpie in any way, I truly love Sharpie Markers and have for years.

  1. You don’t need to be an artist if you’ve got sharpie. These would make nice personalized gifts for any occasions.
