Hello Friends!
Spring is on the way and I just love getting ready for spring and changing up my home decor a little bit. I use one of our bedrooms as a home office and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite, but cheap home office storage ideas.
I like to mix and match items that help me keep my home office space organized. The home office can be an organized space. With just a few storage supplies, you can turn your home office into a place you actually want to be in. Let’s take a closer look at some handy storage solutions for a home office.
Home Office Storage Solutions
Over-the-Door Shoe Organizers
Over-the-door shoe organizers aren’t just for the closet. This can be an amazing way to organize your home office. You can use the pockets to organize cables, extra office supplies, and more. Chances are you have small items around your office that you’re not sure where to store them. An over-the-door shoe organizer is perfect for those items.
Use Closet Space
If your home office has a closet, use the closet to store bigger items such as file cabinets and copier machines. It makes it nice because you can easily close the door and make it clutter-free.
Drawer Organizers
Instead of having office drawers that are a complete mess, use drawer organizers. You can find so many different kinds at dollar stores. You can find packs of three or four organizers for only $1 each. Choose different sizes for the supplies you use. Another great tip is to use poster putty to prevent the organizers from moving around in the drawer.
Decorative Boxes
We all have those items we occasionally need but don’t want to look at. For example, you may have cameras and other equipment that you need for your business. Instead of having those clutter your desk or shelves, place them in decorative boxes. You can find some really pretty boxes at stores for just a couple of dollars. These are also great for storing stationery, office supplies and samples. These below are from Michael's.
Recycled Containers
Did you know that you can reuse a number of containers to organize your home office? For example, you can reuse and recycle coffee containers to store paper clips, pens, and more. You can reuse these items as is or decorate them with decorative paper or washi tape.
Of course, we all know that spending just a bit of time decorating these items can make your home office more enjoyable to be in. My home office style is sort of modern farmhouse! I just used a wire basket and some small drawer sets for the desktop.
Go Vertical
Last, but not least, an excellent tip for storing pens and items you reach for on a regular basis, without cluttering your desktop, is to go vertical. Take a towel rod and then use small hanging flower pots to store pens, scissors, etc. You can usually find these pots in the dollar store during the spring. They are usually really colorful, but you can use spray paint to get the look you want.
Bottom line is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to create an organized home office. These storage solutions are all really inexpensive, yet practical.

I love this stuff. I recently redid my office with a new desk, and re-thought how I stored everything else. It's an eclectic mix!
