Tips for Best Results

This recipe is a great starting point, but everyone has their own taste preferences. So, give the mixture a try and adjust the amounts of each ingredient until you find the perfect mixture for your taste buds. Some like less oregano and more basil, some like to nix the pepper, etc.

Buy ingredients that are better quality as this will make all the difference in your finished product. The flavors will sing with higher quality and barely be noticeable with lower quality, cheap ingredients.

Do not keep it for more than six months as that is the maximum life span for dried spices before they lose their flavor.

Use our Greek seasoning recipe to make your own salad dressing, as a dry rub on meat, as an addition to ground meat, or in potato salad.

Substitutions and Variations

Great additions to this mixture are dried parsley, dried marjoram, dried rosemary, or dried thyme.

Depending on what you will be using your seasoning for, dried mustard might be a nice touch.

Dried mint, dried nutmeg, or dried cinnamon are both a lovely change of pace. Nutmeg and cinnamon can both be freshly grated for more flavor.

Try different kinds of peppercorns for your pepper grinder. Each one has a slightly unique and interesting flavor profile.

Use lemon pepper instead of ground pepper for a fun twist that brightens up the overall mixture.
