Easy Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats

Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect no bake dessert when you’re craving something chocolatey, chewy, and fun. With only four simple ingredients, these treats come together quickly and are always a hit.
They’re great for as homemade lunch box treats, after-school snacks, potlucks, or game day parties.

This recipe is a fun twist on classic rice krispie treats that tastes so good! I like to make these for game nights and last minute events.
As a productivity manager, I am all about quick recipes and this is a great one for a fast snack idea. You’ll want to keep this recipe handy for last-minute gatherings.

Ingredients

Save The Recipe!
- Rice Krispie Cereal (or any puffed rice cereal)
- Butter or margarine
- Marshmallows – 20 large or 1 10.5 ox bag of mini marshmallows
- white chocolate chips

Substitutions & Variations
- Again, you can add peanut butter chips or milk chocolate chips or even toffee chips.
- Top with melted white chocolate drizzle
- For a fun game day snack – form the mixture into footballs instead of squares.
How to Make Cocoa Krispie Rice Crispy Treats

Step 1: Melt butter and marshmallows in a sauce pan over medium low heat.

Step 2: When marshmallows are melted, turn off heat and fold in the cocoa krispies. Add white chocolate chips.

Step 3: Transfer chocolate cereal mixture into a prepared pan

Step 4: Let set and cut into squares with a sharp knife.
Serving & Storage
- Serve with a cold glass of punch or juice or milk.
- Pack in festive cellophane bags for holidays or bake sales
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
Raquel’s Time-saving Tips ⏰
- Grease your pan and spatula with butter or margarine to prevent sticking.
- Add the white chocolate chips just before transferring to a baking dish so that the chips don’t melt.
- Don’t overpack the mixture into the pan so that it keeps the treats soft and chewy and not too dense.
- Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture.

Easy Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats (No-Bake Chocolate Dessert)
Equipment
- large saucepan
- baking pan
- sharp knife
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter divided
- 40 large marshmallows
- 6 cups Cocoa Krispie Cereal
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Grease baking dish with butter or margarine or line with parchment paper.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low,
- Stir in the marshmallow and cook on low, stirring constantly, until the marshmallows are fully melted. Remove from the heat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Cocoa Rice Krispies with themarshmallow mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop cereal mixture into the prepared 11×7-inch pan and use a buttered spatula to spread out evenly.
- Remove the Rice Krispies treats from the pan and place on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut into 12 squares.
