How to make burrata pasta
Step by Step Instructions Overview. Full details in recipe card.

Step 1- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain and set aside. Saute the garlic.

Step 2 – Add cherry tomatoes, basil paste, salt, and Italian seasoning.

Step 3 – Sauté for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.

Step 4 – Pull tomatoes off of the heat.

Step 5 – Transfer the tomato mixture to a blender.

Step 6 – Add the two burrata balls and blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, if needed. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water and blend again until it reaches your desired consistency.

Step 8 – Pour the creamy burrata—tomato sauce over the pasta and toss to coat evenly.
Step 9 – Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

FAQs About This Burrata Pasta Recipe

Not quite. Burrata has a soft, creamy center called stracciatella cheese, while fresh mozzarella is firmer throughout.
Yes! A pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of black pepper adds heat without overpowering the creamy sauce.
Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat over medium-low heat with a splash of water or pasta sauce to maintain the creamy texture.
Garlic bread, a fresh salad with balsamic vinegar, or roasted vegetables make delicious options to complete the meal.
