Americana Puzzle Wreath

Hi Friends!

I hope this is turning out to be a good week for you. Today I am sharing a fun craft idea that involves repurposing. The 4th of July is nearly here and so today we are sharing a fun and simple dollar store craft.

Today I am sharing a tutorial on how to upcycle a puzzle into a cute décor wreath for the Fourth of July

Instructions:

STEP ONE

Gather all supplies.  Basecoat puzzle pieces with blue craft paint.  Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.  Freezer paper makes a great, inexpensive cover for your work surface.

STEP TWO

Download, print and cut the star wreath pattern HERE.  Trace onto chipboard, cut the outside with scissors and the inside with craft knife on a self-healing mat.

STEP THREE

Randomly attach puzzle pieces to star wreath base with the glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP FOUR

Apply a second layer of puzzle pieces over top of the first layer.  Mix and match the shapes to create an organic pattern.

STEP FIVE

Measure and cut a rectangle of white cardstock one-inch wide and seven-inches wide, and then fishtail the ends with scissors.  Punch or cut two 1 ½” circles from red cardstock and two 1” circles from blue cardstock.  Layer the circles and then the letter stickers onto the banner.  Attach the banner to the star wreath with the glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP SIX

To finish, accent the banner with rhinestones.  Measure and cut a twelve-inch length of red twine and glue to the back of the wreath to use as a hanger.
