Very Merry Christmas Margarita

This Very Merry Christmas Margarita is a fun take on a Cranberry Margarita, but this recipe is even better.
Delicious, juicy sugared cranberries are blended into the drink and used as garnish to make this easy to make, fun and festive libation.

This take on a classic margarita is infused with the color, smell and flavors of the season, such as cranberries, orange zest and rosemary

Ingredients
- tequila
- cranberry juice
- sugared cranberries
- ice
- Cointreau
- agave syrup
- orange zest
- rosemary sprig
- fresh lime juice

Substitutions & Variations
This fun drink can be made with pomegranate juice for a fun twist.
How to Make Sugared Cranberries

Step 1 – Make the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat

Step 2 – Simmer the Cranberries
Add 1 cup of fresh cranberries to the simple syrup. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Step 3 – Drain Cranberries
Remove the cranberries from the syrup using a slotted spoon. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper to drain.
Step 4 – Coat Cranberries
Toss the dried cranberries in the white sugar until evenly coated. Return the sugared cranberries to the cookie sheet to finish drying. I like to pop then in the refrigerator to help set. I do not recommend placing in the freezer.

Now they are ready for use in the recipe.
Making the Margarita
Step 1 – Place thin layer of water in a shallow saucer. Add sugar to a shallow plate. Dip each glass rim into the saucer of water and then rim it with the sugar from the plate.
Step 2 – In a blender add ice, tequila, cranberry juice, sugared cranberries, Cointreau, and agave and lime juice. Blend until slushy about 30 seconds.
Step 3 – Top each drink with a pinch of orange zest. Add rosemary and sugared cranberries for garnish.

Timesaving Tips
Prep the sugared cranberries ahead of time and you can make these drinks in about 5 minutes.
