For the sports fan, a gift basket is always fun to receive! Pssst! It is also fun to put together! Items to include could be tickets to a game or event, T-shirts, hats, glassware, flags and jackets. You can bake or order team cookies and add some viewing snacks to include in the basket.
Have the kids make posters or signs as part of the package. If you cannot afford major league prices for tickets, consider minor or local league games. Buy tickets for friends or the entire family to make it a fun outing that won’t be forgotten.
Lessons
Busy dads like moms, often don’t take enough time for themselves. Consider giving that special dad lessons in something they have always wanted to do such as golf, guitar, scuba diving, cooking, photography or beer crafting.
Most local sporting good stores and sports centers offer lesson packages. It’s also great to add other members of the family so that they can take lessons together. Several years ago, our family (except me) took guitar lessons together and it was really fun! We talk about those times often and while not everyone still plays, the times spent together are treasured.

I always got my dad ties growing up but he wanted them…. had an entire collection going…
That’s neat that he collected them. I gave my dad ties many times too.
Cassidy has never worn watches, but my dad always has!
And lessons are a great idea. I know I’d like that, and there are so many things that would make Cassidy happy to do – piano lessons, cooking lessons, anything!
My dad is a watch person too – always has one on! My husband lived getting golf lessons one year!
