Do you brunch? I love relaxing brunches and recently I had a fun experience hosted by Steak n Stein. Nestled in the San Gabriel Valley in the city of Pico Rivera, Steak n Stein is a landmark restaurant that has been here since I was a kid, which was, ahem, a while ago.
.
Walking into Steak n Stein will take you to a different time. It is a traditional steakhouse like you see in the movies. The unique restaurant is woodsy with decorative red lamps and dark walls, offering an intimate and relaxing experience.
There is also a very cozy circular fireplace surrounded by comfortable chairs, providing a perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail. On some days and evenings, there is also some great entertainment in the lounge.
Speaking of cocktails this place has been serving classic cocktails for years, so they know what they are doing. It being Sunday brunch, I opted for a Clearman’s mimosa. It was beautiful and delicious. They also have one of the best champagne cocktail menus I have ever seen (and I know my cocktails!)
The day we were there, a musician was playing live jazz in the front dining room which added a nice, elegant touch. The tables are covered in white linen and the seating in the front area was plush.
Our server Heather, was great at explaining the specials and menu items. After a tough decision, I opted for the California omelette with mushrooms, red onion, tomato, pepper jack, cheddar and Swiss cheeses topped with avocado slices. It was really good and filling.
Most of the brunch items on their prix fixe menu came with country potatoes and dessert! Dessert at brunch? Why not?! Oh and did I tell you the prix fixe brunch offers a bottomless mimosa, champagne or house wine?
The green salad came with a choice of dressing and the cabbage salad is the best cabbage salad I have ever had.
Their meals come with their famous grilled cheesy bread. Their cheese bread is so renowned that that they actually sell the topping at some of the local markets.
You will most likely be taking leftovers home (and you will want to because it is all so good). Steak n Stein is very well known for their steaks as well, and they offer a great steak and eggs option for brunch.
These are the Banana Foster Bites that I had for dessert by the way!
They also have a kids meal and lunch items available priced from $14 and up.The prix fixe brunch it is $29 for the mimosas and $19 if you without alcohol.

Dessert for brunch sounds lovely, and the Banana Foster Bites look delicious!
I love desserts at brunch – makes it a special treat. Oils not do it every day though.
Brunch is my favorite! I like the portion sizes. When you described what you ordered I wasn’t sure it’s something I would have gotten, but then I saw the photo and decided I definitely would have!
And Banana Foster Bites too!
I am all about eggs for breakfast 🙂 I like portion sizes too!
