This last weekend my mother and I had a crafting session together. I made a St. Patrick's Day wreath for my door. My mother and I try to get together to craft twice a month. I love that we have this time together especially now that my kids are older it gives us a chance to chat and talk about the kids, happenings and memories.
This craft session I thought I would try something making a St. Patrick's Day wreath almost fully out of dollar store items. I wanted to see if I could do it. While the wreath itself came from a craft store all of the decorations on it are from the dollar store
First I took my styrofoam wreath and wrapped it with some white tulle ribbon. Then I took apart these cute headbands I purchased at the dollar store and cut off the decorations on top I thought this would be cute for my wreath.
Then I added a few dollar store flowers and shamrocks.
And finally secured it all with a repurposed ribbon I received on a gift.
What do you think? Can you tell these are dollar store items?
Do you decorate for St. Patrick's Day?

That is so special that you craft with your mom! I would love that chance with my mom but she lives a bit far.
We don't decorate for St. Patrick's Day but my mom always did growing up!
And an Amazon gift card? I'd probably buy new books with it! I haven't done that in ages. I usually rely on the slow library.

It is a special time. I love that your mom decorated when you were growing up. I am always buying books on Amazon. I prefer holding a real book.

How nice that you and your mom spend time together that way. How fun!
Love the wreath! It turned out perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

Thank you Carla, I loved how inexpensive it was to make. Yes, crafting with mom is truly a fun tradition.

What a great prize. Thanks. I wish my daughter would craft with me, but she'd rather stick her nose in a book. We do play board games together, so that is nice. I've tried to teach her how to crochet, but she won't have anything to do with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (She's 23 now.)

Also, I'd use my gift card towards Mod Podge and Yarn, maybe some new music.
