Scarecrow decorations are so perfect right now and this simple scarecrow craft is one of those 15-minute craft ideas.
Quick and simple crafts are my favorite because I liked the fact that I can create some fall decor in less time than it takes to watch a recorded episode of The Bachelor.
My mother and I made these at our last craft session. Every week I pay her a visit and bring my craft supplies. We have been crafting together for years along with my daughter and friends and it helps her take her mind off things on her mind.
I personally have loved crafting since I was a little girl. There's just something about unleashing your creativity that is invigorating and satisfying. When I was younger, I did a lot of rubber stamping and scrapbooking. Now that photos are available digitally, I am more apt to make home decor items.
Supplies you'll need for this project include:
- Floral foam
- Scarecrow pics
- Fall leaves
- Decorative pebbles or rocks
- Glass jar (with wide mouth)
- Raffia
First, I cut the floral foam into a 1" x 2" rectangle and put it into the base of the jar.
Then I inserted the scarecrow pick into the foam. Note that the pic may have to be trimmed. Next, I layered leaves and rocks on the bottom of the jar to cover the foam. I also added a raffia bow.
Then I added some twine around the lip of the jar and this little decorative scarecrow is ready to become part of my fall mantle.
He just makes me smile when I see him.
He is also great for a fall tablescape.

Scarlet always asks for those cute scarecrows so that we can craft with them. And I use them as props for fall recipes. LOVE.

How cute. He looks like he is just chillin' in that jar and keeping an eye on everyone 🙂
