These past few weeks have been so busy! Busy at work, busy at home and now here come the holidays. I know that many of you feel the same way. It's so important to balance your time so you don't feel exhausted all the time. As moms, we tend to put a lot on our plate and one of the things I learned a long time ago was that it is important to be making time for yourself every day.

I know that I can be a better wife, mother, daughter, friend, etc., when I have had some time for myself. When I don't, I can get cranky, and sometimes feel a little resentful and that's not the person I want to be. Taking some time out of my day for me time allows me to recharge, refresh and be inspired.

How to Find TIme For Yourself

Do you need more me time your schedule? I have some tips for you to make it easier.

  • find a block of time in your schedule to relax
  • pick up a couple of magazines at your neighborhood grocery store
  • turn off your phone and ignore social media notifications (they will still be there later)
  • look at your downtime during the day, and see if you can turn it into "me" time
  • trade errands or transportation duties with a friend so you both save some time for yourself
  • make it a priority to take a few moments for yourself - you deserve it!

How do I spend my me time?

By turning off my phone and reading some of my favorite magazines.

#MeTimeMags

I picked these up at Vons earlier during the week, and I find time to enjoy them. Some of my plate favorite places for me to snag a little time are in my car while waiting for pick up time, on my patio chair outside, and even at the field during practice.

Stylewatch is one I really enjoy because I really need some style inspiration when it comes to fashion. People magazine gives me a chance to catch up on my favorite celebrities, and other people who are the news. I also love Sunset magazine because they have great recipes and travel ideas.

If you like reading magazines like I do, here's a coupon to save a dollar when you buy a participating magazine (People, People StyleWatch, Sunset, and InStyle) at Vons, and it's good through 11/20/14, while supplies last. You will have to register for Just4U to access the coupon thourgh the Just4U portal.

Did I mention that sometimes I share my me time with my puppy? He is not really a puppy, but I treat him like one #spoiledpet.

Aww. pup!! One of my dreams is to have an entire day to myself and with no phone. The problem is that I do get days to myself but it's two kids at school during flu and cold season so I have to keep the phone near me and then I can't resist looking! Argh!
I told my husband I was going to schedule a cookie store visit and a nap into my schedule one of these days.

Gosh, I don't remember the last time I read a magazine for some quiet time! I do like to read a book for a few chapters each night before bed though. I count it as a bonus if I get five minutes to drink my coffee in peace during the day- but my boys love to sit next to me and read books while I have my coffee and I do cherish that time as my eldest is off to school next month.

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
