Dollar Store Thanksgiving Decor

Will someone please tell me how Thanksgiving is nearly 2 weeks away already? I honestly feel like each year goes faster than the next.

I have been working on ideas to design my holiday table with some dollar store Thanksgiving decorations. By utilizing some tools to lower the stress of Thanksgiving, I am enjoying the free time by creating something for the table.

Dollar Store Thanksgiving Decorations

Each year, I like to change things up so that my table looks different from the prior year. So I incorporate decorations that do not cost a lot of money. Here is my table for this year made almost entirely out of items from the Dollar Tree.

These elegant gold chargers and plates are from dollar tree. The plates are my own. The turkey centerpiece and the sparkly copper leaves are all from Dollar Tree, as are the candles, pilgrim and flower vase.

Dollar Store Thanksgiving Decorations Supply List

I decided to make some napkin rings from paper towel cardboard rolls to set on each plate. They are easy to do and are a great project for kids. You will need the following supplies:

2 packages napkins (2 colors)
paper towl rolls (each roll makes 3 rings)
construction paper (brown, red, white)
scissors
glue
marker

Here's how to make them.

How to Make Turkey Napkin Rings

Open a napkin of each color once to make a rectangle.

Place one napkin on another of a second color. Cut off about 1 ½ " from the length.

You are going to fold this in a fan in a few minutes. So set aside for now.

Now it s time to make the turkeys. For a sneak peak, this is how they are going to fit into the cardboard rolls.

Cut each paper towel roll to about 2" high. (You can also use wrapping paper or bathroom tissue rolls).

Cut out brown construction paper into a figure 8 shape (see below). Using white paper, cut out circles for the eyes (I used a small circle punch)

Cut wattles in the shape of a tear drop from the red paper.

Add the red wattle and draw spots on the eyes.  Glue the body to the roll and let dry.

Now fold up the doubled napkins and place in the tubes.

So these little guys helped me bring the decor together.

Then I added them to my table. Nearly all of the items below are from The Dollar Tree.

By the way, The Dollar Tree is a great place to get disposable roaster pans and aluminum packaging with lids for the leftovers and the best part is - they are only a dollar each. Also, my personal recommendation is to buy your napkins there too. They have an array of colors at only $1 each.

I am so excited to spend a day with the people I am most grateful for on Thanksgiving. Before you go, please tell me, how many people will be at your Thanksgiving celebration (whether you are hosting or attending) this year? We are going to have about 10 at ours.

The turkeys are awesome. I showed them to Scarlet and she begged me to get the supplies.
