DIY Straw Tote Bags

Today we are doing a little crafting on the island and making these fun DIY Straw Tote Bag ideas for summer. My daughter and I decorated some tote bags earlier this year and now that summer is in full force, I wanted to share with you some fun ideas that can elevate a simple bag and turn it into a custom tote bag.

This project is pretty quick and is great for a girls night in craft idea. Just like this summer bucket list party idea, it is a fun summer activity to get your creative goodness going.DIY Decorated tote bag

The bags we used were from Michaels, but you can find some plain straw beach totes and trendy straw tote bags online too.

I have to say I was inspired by all the pretty colored yarn I saw on our recent trip to Mexico. The little balls are so popular and were in just about every shop I visited.

I love how easy it is to change up the bag and give it a boost with some flowers and pom poms. Straw bag with pom poms are everywhere this summer and decorating a tote and making it your own is a wonderful way to spend some creative time with your friends or family.

It only took us about a half hour to decorate these which makes it a quick summer craft idea, that you can use over and over again. Here a few ways you can use pom poms and tassels to create a DIY personalized tote bag.

All you need is a plain straw or bamboo tote bag.

With just a few elements, such as pom-poms, flowers, and yarn tassels, you can make your own unique boho tote bag.

All you need is a few supplies, a glue gun and a few minutes to really get creative with the bag decorating.
Today I am sharing a few ideas for your summer craft inspiration.

You can also add pom poms or cute yarn tassels to this summer’s uber popular Round straw crossbody bag. I picked this one up here for about $20.

Bot, honestly, I love that you can change up the designs based on your colors of choice or even your favorite summer go to outfit.

These cute wired flowers were found in the dollar bin at a craft store, but they work great on their own.

I picked this one up at the Target Bullseye Playground a couple of weeks ago. If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love to share my Target dollar finds on Tuesdays. This bag was shared when I found it. If you are not following me, check out my IG. This idea here is for all the pom-pom lovers out there!
