Cookie Cutters - Organizing Tip

Published: Feb 20, 2013 · Modified: Aug 7, 2022 by Raquel · This post may contain affiliate links · 30 Comments

Sharing is caring!

This weekend I was baking some cookies and I decided to share how I organize some of my kitchen gadgets. One of my favorite things to bake is cookies. I have been baking since I was a little girl and I still have a couple of cookie cutters from my childhood.

#organizing cookie cutters

Over the years, I have acquired about 50-60 cookie cutters and for a long time I kept them in a big box all mixed together.

My System for Organizing Cookie Cutters

But now I take much better care of them and have them organized by theme. I used some corrugated mailing boxes for my collection.  These boxes are cheaper than some of the plastic boxes I have seen and work great.

Organizing my kitchen

This saves me time because I just pull out the box I need and do not have to touch the other cutters.

Frugal Organizing

It also takes minimal room in my kitchen cabinet.  I can rotate the boxes by theme so that the ones for the upcoming holidays are in front.

The cost for these boxes is minimal.  You can buy a set from your local office supply store.  I found this to be cheaper than plastic boxes with lids of the same size.

Tips to organize those cookie cutters so that you can grab one quickly when you need it!

How do you store your cookie cutters?

That is such a great idea! I have a big box of the plastic Wilton cookie cutters and dig through it every time I need a specific shape which is a big pain. I also have a coffee can full of those metal cookie cutters that I used as a child. I'm pretty sure we had cookie cutters just like the first ones you picture at our house as well.

This is a great idea! All of ours are mixed together in an empty plastic cake storage bin. I'll need to add these boxes to my shopping list!

I never thought of that. My cookie cutters are in giant tubes and tubs and fall all over the place any time I'm looking for something in my cupboard. I just learned something helpful. Thanks. Followed you from SITS. Have a blessed day!

Great organization tips. I have many cutters (mostly plastic) that I used for my daughter's bento lunches. I have them in large baggies and in a few containers, but I like this idea! Thanks for linking up to my Pin Me Party!

How fantastic! I love cookie cutters but my collection isn't very impressive. I love how you've organized and would love to have a collection like yours. Thanks for sharing with us over at Real Housemoms.

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
