Homemade Pizza Bagels

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 plain bagels halved
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 30 to 40 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tbsp salted butter melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning divided
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl, then stir in the garlic powder and ¼ teaspoon of the Italian seasoning.
  • Arrange the bagel halves on the prepared baking sheet and brush each cut side generously with the garlic butter.
  • Spread marinara sauce over each bagel half, then top with mozzarella and 5–6 pepperoni slices.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and the remaining Italian seasoning.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are lightly toasted.
  • For a golden finish, broil for 30 seconds, watching closely.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
  • Optional: garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Use your favorite marinara sauce for the best flavor.
Use 3 bagels if serving 3 people, or 4 bagels if serving 4.
Brushing the bagels with the seasoned butter is key as it helps prevent them from getting soggy once the sauce is added.
