Ham and Cheese Christmas Trees

These Ham and Cheese Christmas Trees are a fun and easy Christmas Appetizer. Little trees are made out of puff pastry and filled with ham, cheese and herbs. Great as a holiday party snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 17.3 ounce box of puff pastry the one that has 2 sheets included, thawed
  • 6 slices ham
  • 6 slices cheese
  • 4 ounce block cheddar cheese to make stars
  • 8 wooden skewers
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Lay out a piece of puff pastry.
  • Layer on the ham.
  • Next layer on the cheese.
  • Place another piece of puff pastry on top.
  • Slice into 8 equal strips.
  • Start folding the pastry strips making it a big fold at the bottom and getting smaller as you go up to create a triangle shape.
  • Carefully push a skewer up through all the layers of the puff pastry. Make sure to leave enough skewer at the top for the star later.
  • Place them on a parchment lined baking tray.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • In a small microwave safe bowl melt the butter and add the parsley, onion powder and garlic salt.
  • Brush the butter mixture over the warm trees.
  • Let cool slightly.
  • Use a small star cookie cutter to cut stars out of the cheddar cheese.
  • Place a star on top of each tree and serve!
