Equipment

  • small bowl
  • baking dish or baking sheet
  • 1 sheet foil

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 salmon filet (14-16 oz)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 4oo degrees F. Prepare a baking pan by lining with foil.
  • Prepare the sauce. Blend together butter, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, oil and ginger in a saucepan over low heat until blended and sugar is melted.
  • Place salmon filet skin side down on foil. If salmon has bones, you can debone first.
  • Sprinkle salmon with salt and pepper.
  • Add prepared glaze to the salmon.
  • Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
  • Cooking time varies depending on the thickness.  Be sure to test before pulling it out of the oven. Fish should flake easily with a fork.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake—salmon cooks quickly and can dry out fast.
  • Use similar-sized fillets so they bake evenly.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
