Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup Franks red hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 can jumbo buttermilk biscuits

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Prepare Chicken Filling

  • Take chicken and pour oil over the top and then add spices.
  • Rub oil and spices into chicken and lay in a small baking dish.
  • In a small bowl mix together hot sauce, brown sugar, and melted butter.
  • Pour sauce over the top of the chicken.
  • Bake chicken for 30-40 minutes until cooked through.
  • Fork shred the chicken breast and mix with the sauce in the bottom of the baking dish.

Prepare Football Meat Pies

  • Take each jumbo biscuit and spread the size of a small plate.
  • Place 1 ½ tablespoons shredded chicken mixture in the middle of the biscuit and fold over.
  • Use a fork to crimp the edges of the biscuit.
  • Place biscuits in the air fryer basket and fry at 330° for 5 minutes on each side.
  • Place sour cream in a piping bag or sandwich baggie and cut a tiny hole in the corner.
  • Pipe the sour cream in football lines on the biscuits.

Notes

  • Shredded Chicken - use rotisserie chicken in place of making your own. Just mix the shredded chicken with the same ingredients as noted in the recipe card and fill.
  • This recipe can be scaled up to make more footballs.
  • Don't overcook the chicken. Overcooked chicken will be dry and tough. Cook the chicken until it is just cooked through.
