Cheesy Dip with Sausage and Cream Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hot breakfast sausage cooked
  • 12 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies drained
  • ½ cup banana peppers
  • ½ cup red bell peppers
  • 2 cups mozzarella shredded
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 8 oz, block cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°. In a large mixing bowl combine the cream cheese and seasonings, stir until combined.
  • Add the sausage, diced tomatoes, banana peppers, red bell peppers, mozzarella cheese (save ½ cup and set aside) and Parmesan, mix until combined and add to a greased 8x8 baking dish.
  • Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and bake for 15 minutes, after the times up set oven to broil and let broil for 2-3 minutes until bubbly and brown.
  • Serve with toasted baguette or tortilla chips!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • You can add extra spices like garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or cayenne pepper for depth of flavor.
  • For a spicy dip - use pepper jack cheese or a little bit of hot sauce for a little kick.
  • Serve the sausage cheese dip warm for the best taste and texture.
