- 3-4 chicken breasts sliced
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth or chicken stock
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 4 oz cream cheese cubed
- ⅓ cup drained sun dried tomatoes chopped
- 2 tablepsoons fresh basil chopped
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1 ½ cup instant rice optional
Mix flour, salt, paprika and black pepper in a small bowl. Dredge chicken pieces in flour mixture.
In a large skillet, add olive oil and butter over low heat. Add chicken pieces and brown about 2 -3 minutes each side and set aside.
In a large crock pot, add chicken, broth, cream, cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes and seasonings.
Cook on high for 2 hours- 2.5 hours (this will depend on how thick your chicken is..Stir to mix sauce.
At this point, there is an option to shred the chicken.
Add parmesan cheese. If adding rice, this is the time to add it. see option below. Cook an additional 15-20 minutes.
