French Toast Breakfast Casserole

This Easy French Toast Breakfast Casserole is a perfect breakfast or brunch idea. It is delicious and easy to make ahead too! Great for weekends or even the occasional weekday when you have a little extra time.

Ingredients

  • 10-12 pieces of Texas Toast
  • 2 teaspoon melted butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped
  • Glaze
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons of milk or heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven to 325
    Chop stale bread into cubes
    Beat eggs, melted butter, vanilla, cream and milk with a whisk
    Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and whisk.
    Pour mixture over the bread inside the baking dish.
    Press the bread down as much as you can to fully soak it then cover with foil.
    Create 2-3 slits in the foil to vent.
    Bake covered for 45 mins.
    Bake uncovered for an additional 45 mins.
    Bread pudding is done when the center no longer jiggles when you shake the pan.
    Let sit for 10 mins and work on the glaze.
    Add glaze to top, serve and enjoy.
    Should be stored in a fridge covered or in an airtight container.
