The flavor of this recipe is good. I made an adjustment, however.
I made these the first time using 3/4 stick butter (6 tbsp) as the recipe reads. They were more cake like.
I made them a second time using 3/4 cup butter (12 tbsp) The second batch was flaky as a scone should be.

I actually always keep my scones in a ‘pizza’. That’s how my Scottish mother taught me to do it. It keeps the edges soft rather that crusty and I prefer that.

We made 16 rather than 8, and then cut them in half to share, and still a good size for a snack! They are not overly sweet, so I look forward to sharing with my British friend who says we Americans don’t like pumpkin flavor, we like sugar:). I think she’s not wrong, but I really appreciate that there is a pumpkin-y spice flavor to them.

Hi, I made the pumpkin scones but I used homemade pumpkin and made into rounds. They are delicious, my husband loves them.

They freeze really good. I put them on a plate and cover with a bowl, that way the glaze doesn’t stick to the bag.

The scones are really good! I’ve made them twice and have experienced the same problem
Dough is much too sticky
You cannot work with it at all
Add 1 to 1 1/4 cup extra flour
Then I sprinkle a mixture of sugar and the over spices lightly on top
I made a cream cheese icing
Got alot of compliments at the party

These scones are wonderful! I omitted the cinnamon in the glaze and added a couple of drops of vanilla instead as I felt the scones were “spiced” enough. Recipe was very easy to follow and produced great scones for a first timer like me. One comment, if you are as literal a gal as myself, a reminder to separate the scones on the baking sheet after cutting them into eighths would be helpful. My husband saw my perfect circle of scones and said, “what is this, scone pizza?” Looking forward to trying the recipe again and getting the crispy edge on all sides of the scones next time… lol.
