Bacon Lettuce Tomato Salad

This classic BLT salad takes the flavors of bacon, lettuce and tomatoe to a new level in this simple salad recipe. Delicious with the homemade chive salad dressing and perfect for picnics and bbqs

Ingredients

Salad Ingredients

  • 2-3 romaine lettuce hearts
  • 1 lb cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 ½ cups croutons
  • 12 oz bacon cooked until crispy
  • homemade dressing to taste.

Homemade Dressing for BLT Salad

  • 3 tablespoon mayonnaisse
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • 2-3 tablespoon fresh chives chopped
  • teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2-3 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  • For the salad, rough chop the romaine hearts, combine romaine, tomatoes, and bacon in a large bowl, and toss.
  • Add dressing to taste.
  • When serving, add the desired amount of croutons.

Homemade Dressing

  • For the dressing, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and chives in a jar or other container to store any leftover dressing in. 
  • Slowly add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached. 
  •  You can add additional salt and pepper, to taste, if needed.

Notes

Refrigerate any leftovers.
If not serving immediately, omit combining the bacon, store it separately, and add to salad as desired.
