Simple Hummus

This easy homemade hummus recipe can be made in minutes and is so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic chopped, I use the jar variety
  • 1 15 oz can garbanzo beans
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Tahini
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Drain the chickpeas. Pour into a blender or the bowl of a food processor.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients Mix all of the above until desired consistency. The consistency should be creamy and blended. If it is too thick, you can add a tablespoon of water.
  • I like to add a little Tapatio hot sauce to spice up the plain hummus from time to time, but it tastes good without it too.  I like to serve it with pita chips, tortilla chips, sliced carrots, peppers, or celery.
  • Refrigerate and serve.
