Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect cookies at any time of year. I love that these are light and crispy and taste delicious.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together first 5 ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients (except chips) to the creamed mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips and combine.
  • Roll into 1" balls. Place  cookie dough balls onto greased or parchment covered cookie sheet
  • Bake 11 - 13 minutes until light brown.

Notes

  • Don't overmix dough. Over-mixing can lead to tough cookies. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Cookies will be soft when they come out of the oven.They will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • Baking time may vary depending on oven and climate.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Store in an airtight container.
