- 3 cups all purpose flour
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 12oz can beer
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preheat oven to 375°.
Grease a 9" x 5" loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Pour one can (12 oz) of beer in the center.
Mix until blended. The batter will be lumpy.
Pour into prepared loaf pan and top with 2 tablespoons in butter.
Bake in oven 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Crust should be golden brown.
Store leftover beer bread in plastic wrap at room temperature. It will last about 4-5 days.
