Mini Apple Tarts

Mini apple tarts - a fun idea for dessert, a snack or brunch. Apples and cinnamon baked in a pastry dough.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples (any variety
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets
  • 1 tablespooh powdered sugar optional

Instructions

  • Thaw puff pastry as directed.
  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • When thawed, roll out puff pastry.
  • Cut into shapes or circles.
  • Place half of these on to a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Set half of these aside for the tops.
  • In a saucepan, mix towther apples, cinnamon, and sugar.
  • Heat over medium about 3-4 minutes until a glaze forms from the sugar.
  • Remove from heat and place 1 tablespoon onto each pastry on the cookie sheet.
  • Cover with the second cutout for each one.
  • Seal using a fork all around the cutout and make two small holes, using the tip of a knife.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • If desired, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
