- 2 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 17 ounce container caramel sauce, divided
- 1 8 ounce package English toffee baking bits, divided
- ¼ cup chopped salted peanuts optional
- ¼ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips optional
- 3-4 Apples cored and sliced
- Vanilla cookies or graham crackers optional
Beat together the cream cheese with ½ cup caramel sauce and ½ cup Heath bits until blended evenly. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish and smooth into an even layer. (I used a pie plate.)
Pour remaining caramel sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Top with the remaining Heath bits.
If desired, add the peanuts and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips to the top.
Serve with sliced apples and cookies, if desired.
- To keep the apple slices from turning brown, you can sprinkle them with a little bit of lemon juice
- For a smooth and creamy dip, ensure your cream cheese is softened at room temperature before starting. This will make it easier to beat and prevent lumps. If you forget to soften it beforehand, you can soften it in the microwave in short bursts (5-10 seconds at a time) on low power, checking and rotating it frequently to avoid overheating.
- You can top the cream cheese layer with other varieties of nuts such as pecans or walnuts.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
