Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 ¼ cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • cup orange juice

Instructions

  • Wash and drain cranberries.
  • Bring water to a boil and add cranberries, sugar and orange juice.
  • Boil for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

    • If you want a smooth cranberry sauce, you can puree it in a blender or food processor after it has cooked.
    • The sugar and orange juice help cut the tartness of the cranberries, adjust to your liking.
    • Use a large saucepan with a heavy bottom to prevent the sauce from burning.
    • Serve with butter and a dinner roll.
    • ⅔ cup of orange juice is equivalent to the juice in 2 oranges.
    • Store leftover cranberry sauce in an airtight container.
