Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup

Fresh chicken, vegetables and spices make this homemade chicken and rice soup recipe perfect for lunch or dinner and it tastes great.

Ingredients

  • 2 cartons chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cups skinless and chopped cooked chicken
  • ¼ cup onion chopped
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 2 carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • cup long grain rice

Instructions

  • In a pot over medium heat, place all ingredients in pot.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20--25 minutes until rice is tender.
