For Cookies
- ½ cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour½ teaspoon salt

Icing Recipe
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tabplespoon milk
- red food coloring
Cookies
Mix together the butter and sugar, vanilla, milk and egg in a large bowl.
Add dry ingredients.
Mix well (for best results use an electric mixer or your hands)
Roll dough into a ball and cover with waxed paper.
Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
Heat oven to 350°
Roll out dough to about ¼" thickness on a lightly floured surface surface and cut with cookie cutter.
Place on parchment covered cookie sheet.
Bake cookies 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool before decorating
Icing
Mix together powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.
Add just enough coloring for the desired shade of pink
Drizzle and spread over cookies.
Let dry completely before serving.
- You can make the dough ahead of time and store the dough in your refrigerator. I highly recommend making them the day or morning of and then you can bake them and have them ready to decorate later.
- Line your baking sheets with parchment paper. This really saves on clean up and makes the cookies easy to lift off of the pan.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
