Easy Cornbread Recipe from Cornmeal

A delicious and easy corn bread from scratch recipe. A great side dish for dinners, barecues and potlucks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Grease a round or square 8' or 9' baking pan.
  • In a bowl combine dry ingredients: flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Melt butter and pour into cornmeal mixture.
  • Beat the egg and add to bowl.
  • Add milk and blend well.
  • Pour into greased pan.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
