I recently attended the Women Get Social Conference in San Diego. The conference is sponsored by the SITS Girls and it was my second BBC (Bloggy Boot Camp). But do not let the cute name fool you. BBC is an informative, inspiring and empowering conference for any woman with a blog, business or desire to publish online content.
The conference hotel was the Bahia Hotel in San Diego. A beautiful location right on Mission Bay. This is the view from my hotel room Saturday morning.
The weather that weekend was a spectrum of sun, wind and rain and everything in between. But I really did not notice it while at the conference.

Despite the changing scenery outside, the discussions were much more captivating. I met some amazing women from all over the country with many different stories and experiences. It was also so nice to see some friends from the SoCal Lady Bloggers group too!
The Women Get Social sessions included discussions on:
- Calculating blog net worth
- Dealing with the ever-changing Facebook Fan Page algorithms
- Pitching to companies and local TV affiliates
- Landing a book deal
- Understanding and embracing Google Plus
- Legal basics for blogs
- Pinterest optimization for content
- Streamlining and delegating tasks in order to grow
Tiffany Romero and Francesca Banducci have put together another informative and fun conference. This was my second SITS Girls conference and to me, it was the best one yet. If you have a chance to attend one, do it. Honestly, this conference is worth much more that the price that they charge, in my opinion.
The information provided in this conference by people who have successfully developed their business, wrote books, created apps, and successfully grew their brand on television is relevant to anyone with an online business or the desire to start one. You can follow the conference happenings and photos using the #WomenGetSocial hashtag. If you have a chance to attend one, my recommendation is do it! Make the investment, it will be worth it.
Have you been to a SITS Girls conference?

I haven’t but it’s a dream of mine! I may go to the one in Philly in September, as long as it doesn’t interfere too much with kindergarten starting!

I hope you get to go Tamara. I have a feeling you will love it!
Laurie says
It was a great conference…my second too! I went to BBC Minneapolis in Oct. Nice post.

You’re absolutely right, it was a fun and exciting conference! Thanks for the recap. I was excited to have my book, “Outsmarting the System” included in such a special event. Bloggers such as yourself can use the tax strategies discussed in the book in the same was as the rich. I hope you found the book useful! (If you didn’t receive your free copy, please let me know). Keep up the great work with your blog!
Raquel says
Thank you Tony! I am actually about half-way through the book. I am enjoying it and thank you for the copy!
Danielle says
