These warm summer evenings have been wonderful settings for evenings outside and last week, I had the pleasure of enjoying the outdoors and a whole lot more at the To Live and Dine OC Event. The event was held on August 13, 2015 and was sponsored by Modern Luxury Orange County.

That evening, twenty culinary masters served up their best for the Chef's Challenge competition at the beautiful  Segerstrom Center for the Arts. A fun and mouthwatering event for all of us lucky enough to attend. There were delectible savory bites froms from Waterline Newport Beach, Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana, and Silver Trumpet Restaurant to name a few.

At entry, each attendee was given a gold coin to use as a vote for their favorite dish of the evening.

Fabulously crafted beverages were provided by Snake Oil Cocktail Company offering such drinks as the Newport Breeze made with ginger-infused irish whiskey, hibiscus tea, and rosemary and the OC Cooler made with VIE Agave, Cognac, strawberry, rhubarb and house almond reduction.

I felt it was my duty to taste them both so that I could assure yu that they were delightfully tasty and refreshing, and they were.

For craft beer lovers, Legends Craft Brewery in Anaheim brought some wonderful tap varieties including a delightful watermelon, that was my absolute favorite (and they actually ran out of that evening). But enough about the beverages. Let's get to the food!

So many great bites, but which one to receive my coin?

Well, I actually voted for these wonderful lamb chops from Silver Trumpet Restaurant and Bar.

And yes, I did have room for dessert, just barely. These lovely desserts were from Silver Trumpet as well.

There were also acrobatic performances that added to the entertaining evening.

As well as many places to relax and enjoy!

Especially this beautiful bed from Custom Comfort Mattress.

The  DJ played tunes and everyone was having a great time.

As the sun set over the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts, they announced the winner of the competition, Chef Marc Johnson of Oak Grill.

Talk about a wonderful way to spend a summer evening in the OC. A portion of the profits from the event will benefit CASA. Special thanks to Custom Comfort Mattress, a wonderful sponsor that makes the most dreamy mattresses and Modern Luxury Orange County, the source for celebrating the best of the OC lifestyle with genuine style and sophistication. It was truly a magical celebration of Orange County! #ToLiveandDineOC

I NEED those desserts from Silver Trumpet, as well as those couch/bed type things on the lawn. So badly. Here, they'd just inevitably get rained on instantly.
This reminds me of when I watch Top Chef and lucky people get to come with gold coins and vote.

It was pretty cool to have the power of the coin Tamara. Talk about a fun way to spend the evening outdoors.
