While I do not believe that we can truly multitask, I do believe it is possible to get several things done at once if you have help. I recently did this the other day. My oil change was due on my sweet little car. Now I really do not enjoy car maintenance tasks but I do want to take care of her (she does not have a name, but she is a her), and she has been so good to me. She is always gets me where I need to be and I can depend on her.

So I added this task to my to list in my planner and happily hit it last weekend.

Don't ignore warning lights (even though you would like to) they are there for a reason and may result in more of your time and money later.

Happily got an oil change?

Yes.

You see I had my car's oil change done at my Walmart Auto Care Center and it was actually fun! I got there in the morning and dropped my car off after answering some questions about my vehicle from the friendly mechanic.

I was given a slip of paper and was guided into the customer waiting area. I was told it would take about 30 minutes.

I am pretty careful about taking my care in at the recommended intervals. My Dad taught me the importance of taking care of my vehicle. If you take care of your car it will take care of you. I really depend on my little car to get me to all my errands every single day and I would not like it if she had to be in the shop. So there she was getting her oil replaced.

At that time I was already in the store, so I decided to take care of a few items on my shopping list. Talk about convenience. I saw these super cute fall towels so I picked some up for my self and my mom.

I headed back to the waiting area and my car was already done and it was about 10 minutes early!

I paid for my oil change and Walmart's ACC prices are so reasonable! I got my change with Quaker State Advanced Durability Motor Oil because it is a brand that has been around for years that I can trust.

I have listed a few time saving tips with respect to car maintenance that I use. These tips will help you keep your car healthy and ready for fun and adventure.

My timesaving tips for car maintenance

  • Fill your gas tank during the week or on weekend mornings. The gas stations are less crowded at those times and you won't have to wait to find an open pump.
  • Follow your vehicle's recommended service schedule and add it to your planner or calendar when you think you are due so you do not forget.
  • Warm up your car for 30-60 seconds before putting it into gear, especially if it is cold or is the first time driving for the day.Check your tires for wear and tire pressure. Don't let this catch you unexpectedly. If you do not have a tire gauge, there is one at the air pump at most gas stations.
  • Don't ignore warning lights (even though you would like to) they are there for a reason and may result in more of your time and money later.

  • Keep your car clean. I know this can be hard sometimes. Park in the garage if you can so that the car stays cleaner, longer.
  • Don't ignore warning lights (even though you would like to) they are there for a reason and may result in more of your time and money later.
  • Use quality products like Quaker State. Choose brands that have been time tested.Quaker-state-oil-for-oil-changes
  • Treat your car like a family member. Take care of her. If she doesn't sound right or feel right, follow up with a visit to your local mechanic.
Do you schedule your routine car maintenance or do you wait until warning lights come on? Also, do you have a name for your car?

I used to get the oil changed at the mall. It was a great excuse to go shopping 🙂

Oh, this is fun! We both talked about oil changes this week. So important!
I love the idea of shopping while your oil is being changed. And I agree - never ignore that light! I lost a car that way.

Oh sorry to hear about that light incident. It really is important to take care of the car. No car - no ice cream or cookies right?

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
