I recently attended a preview of the new menu items at Islands Restaurant. Islands, known for their gourmet burgers and tasty tropical drinks, recently added some new menu items for summer.

What's New at Islands Restaurants

We started with some fresh chips, salsa and guacamole and their newest local brew, The Hula Bay IPA in frosty mugs.

Hula IPA is only available at Islands

The Hula Bay IPA, a recent collaboration with Left Coast Brewery, is brewed locally and is available exclusively at Islands for a limited time.

We also sampled the Colada Sunset, which is a twist on the classic Pina Colada, made with pineapple, coconut cream and a float of Myer’s Rum, (available for a limited time).

For dinner, I had to try the Heat Wave Burger, made with their tasty burger and  topped with green chilies, Serrano chilies, pepper-jack cheese and spicy mayo. I loved the subtle spiciness, it came with their fresh-cut Island fries and went great with the cold beer!

Next we opted for their Kaanapali Cobb Salad. Made with fresh mixed greens, grilled & chilled chicken breast, fresh avocado, bleu cheese crumbles and topped with hard-boiled egg and applewood-smoked bacon, This was delectable and wonderfully refreshing!

A friend of mine tried the Shorebird sandwich, grilled chicken breast, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and topped with applewood-smoked bacon. I have had this many times and it is one of my favorite chicken sandwiches.

Because it was National Ice Cream day, we decided to go for dessert! Well, to be honest, we would have had it even if it wasn't National Ice Cream day. The Chocolate Lava is a fudge brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, roasted almonds & a cherry!

Decadent, but a lovely way to end a summer meal, this is a lovely dessert to share!

Each of the 54 Island restaurants is giving a brand new custom Freedom Cycle Co. beach cruiser! They are decorated with a Hawaiian floral design and bells.

Guests can enter every time they visit an Island’s restaurant. For more information, visit your local Islands restaurant.

Islands also has a large kids menu, with offerings like the Jr. Wave Burger, the Li’l Hot Dogger , Jr. Macaroni & Cheese, the Jr. Quesadilla
the Sandcastle (Grilled Cheese) and Noodles & Butter w/Parmesan.

Did you know that Islands Restaurants gives back over a half a million dollars each year to support a variety of community programs, from local elementary schools to local youth and adult sports teams?

Have you been to Islands Restaurants lately?

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
