Spring Bucket List of Things

Sharing is caring!

There are several things you can do this spring that you will be glad you did later. I thought I would share my list with you. I am a list maker at heart so I always have a list going and many times I refer to the lists again and again because it becomes a routine and for some things, a habit.

A spring bucket list of things to do now that you will benefit from doing later. It's all about starting, like a seedling.

I hope this will inspire you to make a spring bucket list of things to do now. Remember it is all about the journey and making the most of your time!

Spring Bucket List of Things To Do

Do this Now: Plant a garden. There is beauty in watching this grow and nourishing something to fruition. You can start with seeds or seedlings from your local home or garden store.

Why you will be glad later:  If you plant something you can eat or cook with, you not only saved money, but you also grew something without any added hormones or GMOs! If you do not have a lot of room to plant a vegetable garden, even a small window box garden will offer you enough space to grow an some fresh herbs.

Do this Now:  Register to Vote (for my US friends). Every United States citizen 18 years or older should be registered to vote.

Why you will be glad later: You will have participated in a freedom that many in the world do not have. Even if you do not have a favorite candidate, you will have voiced your opinion in a manner that is a sacred privilege. It also sets a great example to your children on civic duty.

Do this Now:  Begin saving for your children’s future. As a ScholarShare ambassador, I have to tell you that college will be here before you know it. At the very least, consider starting a 529 savings account for your kids if you have not already. Starting small is a great way to set aside some funds for college. Do not be intimidated by the costs of college, just get something started. You can open a ScholarShare account with just $25 .

Why you will be glad later: The money you save has a fantastic opportunity to grow in the next few years. Earnings in a 529 plan grow federal tax-free and will not be taxed when the money is taken out to pay for college. You will have already started a college fund!

Do this Now:

Take some time to enjoy the beauty that is spring. Enjoy the flowers, the birds singing and the lovely arrival of new blooms.

Why you will be glad later:

Because the flowers will eventually fade away and take time to smell the flowers is not just rhetoric. It is about really being in the moment and enjoying the beauty that each season brings.

Do this Now:

Schedule walks as part of your daily or weekly routine. Try parking a little farther from the entrance when running errands or walking during your lunch hour.

Why you will be glad later: The weather is getting better and come swimsuit season, you will be glad you started walking! Starting small with walking will get you into some good habits that will benefit your body and mind.

These items on this spring bucket list of things to do are all things that will help set you on a path of health, stability and hopefully, happiness. All the items on this list benefit from the passage of time, so use time to your advantage and resist the temptation to procrastinate. What are you doing right now that you will be glad about later?

Love these ideas! I want to start a garden, but I don't have much of a green thumb... :)

Thank you Ashley! I know what you mean, I am only good with small gardens myself!

All of the above! We can't really start our garden until after May's inevitable frost, but we can start planning certain aspects. Like our outdoor race track! I am registered to vote, luckily. And we're thinking of opening a 529. That's on our minds today as we do our taxes. Nothing like the last minute there.

Sounds like you have some great plans Tamara! It is a good time to start thinking about it for the kids so it can have the potential to grow while they do! :)
