Orchard Supply Hardware

Sharing is caring!

Are you loving all of the recycled and repurposed decor that is surfacing around the web as much as I am? I just cannot get enough of all the cool hardware turned decor ware that I am seeing. For example, this does not look like much but, with a little glue and creativity...

it becomes a candelabra!
This restyled candelabra was one of the demonstrations I saw recently at a media preview of the new Orchard Supply Hardware Store in Lakewood California.

I saw some fun supplies and items that can help you decorate your space at Orchard Supply Hardware. They have so many great items to help you prepare for the warmer months ahead and I wanted to share with you some of them.
First of all there was this solar Gazebo.

That's right, it uses solar energy to generate the lighting for your al fresco after-dark dining. Can you say #Brilliant? I feel that now more than ever we should be looking for ways to conserve our natural resources.
I also loved the weather resistant pillows, solar-powered lights and of course the beautiful flowers!

They also have drought tolerant plants and updated sprinkler heads to help with water conservation, which is so crucial here in Southern California. Store team members are very knowledgeable and can help customers with drought compliant suggestions.
Oh and I just loved the bird houses they had to bring some feathered friends to your garden.

Moving on to indoor decor, remember that repurposing tutorial I mentioned? Well OSH actually has an extensive upcycle hardware section for on creative lighting and decorating projects. With these supplies, you can make your own lamps out of unique materials. This just makes me want to make a cool lap out of something really special. Maybe some milk bottles or tin cans?

Of course they also have a huge selection of paint in may colors and varieties.

As well as a nice array of decorative tape too!
Get ready for spring at OSH!
And if you are looking for hobby hardware parts, nuts and bolts, I am happy to share that they keep things very organized at the Lakewood store, and you know how we like things organized around here!

My first job was at a dress shop in the Del Amo shopping center in the 1950's. That was practically right next door to where this OSH is now. I wonder if the shopping center is still there, now that many of the anchor department stores have gone out of business. I grew up in Bellflower and lived and worked in Long Beach for a few years after college. The only time I go near there now is to "visit" my family members who all reside now at Forest Lawn Sunnyside, when I'm passing through on the way to see my brother in Orange County.

The Del Amo center is still there Barbara! It is huge now and I bet it has changed quite a bit since you were there last. I am glad to hear that you still have your brother to visit in the OC!

    Hi Raquel,
Ok I am taking up a petition to have this store open up in my backyard! I love it!
This coming spring, I plan to tackle a bunch of projects around the house and your article was very inspirational.
    Enjoy shopping!

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
