This weekend I was visiting my parents to celebrate Father’s day and my mom reminded me how important it is for me to get my eyes checked when I mentioned to her that I had to postpone my recent appointment. I had to laugh because I am middle-aged and my mom is still reminding me how to take care of myself. This post is sponsored by Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water.
My mom has taught me many things about staying heathy while grown up. Heck, she knows what she is doing at age 84 so who can disagree? Every day, she would set a multivitamin with my breakfast so that I would get all of my vitamins. Breakfast was a meal that I never skipped and she made sure of that. It was usually cereal, a banana and some juice. It must have worked because I still eat a banana every day.
She also would remind me how important it was to stay active. I walked home from school every day and met her at the corner of our street. My elementary school was really close to my house, so it was not so bad, but my middle school was farther away. I love that she did this, because I really do enjoy walking.
One of the most important pieces of health advice that she gave me was to always ensure that I drank plenty of water. She said that this not only helped me keep hydrated, but that it would also help my skin and energy level. I always have water with me and even keep some by my bed when I go to sleep at night.
I have encouraged my own kids to do all of these things and shared the importance of hydration with them. With summer coming up here in California it is more important than ever to do our best in keeping kids hydrated.
Nestlé® Pure Life® is launching a Hydration Movement to remind people to drink more water each day to stay healthy and hydrated.

Too funny that your mom is reminding you to take care of yourself!! She looks fabulous! My mom lives on the other side of the country but my mother in law is a great role model on taking care of herself…she works out at the gym with quite a few of my friends and they are always telling me how amazing she is!
Organizedisland says
That is great that your MIL works at the gym, I am not very good at that. Thanks for your sweet comment!

I absolutely love that no matter how old you are, your mom is STILL looking out for you. I just love it! 🙂 Your mom is adorable!
I’ve been on a water kick for the past 2 months and I have to admit…it DOES make me feel better than drinking diet soda/tea, etc. The whole family is starting to catch on, too! –Lisa

My mom is big on health stuff too and is always reminding me to make appointments. Unfortunately, she has a lot of health issues and I think she just wants me to be more preventive.
Organizedisland says
Oh I am sorry to hear that your mom has health issues. I know how tough that is! She is right about the appointments.

I always have a water bottle with me, to the point where I don’t know what to do if I somehow forget it! We try to teach our active boys to drink plenty of water as well. Drinking water is always good wisdom!
