I love getting cozy this time of year. The weather outside gets really cold and you can finally see the snow on the nearby mountains.

It rained for a while this weekend and really set the mood for the holiday season. We got cozy in our warm fleece, started a fire in the fireplace and made a little caramel hot chocolate to warm up.

Our Busy Day

We were making gift packages and labels for an upcoming Christmas party. It was a really fun evening getting the gifts ready.

But, we still had not eaten dinner and I wanted a simple, comforting meal for everyone. Thankfully, I had stocked up on Marie Callender’s pot pies earlier in the week.

This time of year, I love dinner shortcuts because with holiday parties, winter programs and lots of shopping and wrapping, I find I can use a little help in the dinner preparation.

I was shopping at Walmart the other day and found the Marie Callender's Family Pot Pie Meal as I wandered down the frozen aisle section.

marie-callendars-in-walmartI decided to pick up a Chicken Pot Pie because, honestly, dinner does not get much easier than this. Notice that I did not include my Christmas gifts in this shot because I did not want to spoil any gift-giving surprises, but I found some fun gifts there too.

I also found these tasty Mini Chiabatta rolls to go with my dinner.

TIMESAVING TIP: Keep a few dinners in the freezer so you will have them on hand during those busy days.

We were able to wrap several gifts, while this was baking in the oven. It was nice to feel rushed and actually enjoy wrapping and tagging the gifts while still serving a warm meal to my family.

Her pot pies have been favorites in our home for years. Marie Callender’s tastes like homemade and are made with all white-meat chicken, healthy vegetables, and creamy gravy, all in a golden, perfectly flaky crust that’s made from scratch. I know my family loves them.

Then, once the wrapping is done, we can cozy up with warm blankets and slippers and enjoy our after dinner time together with a holiday movie. Christmas Story is our favorite. We love our cozy time together that happens this time of year.

Have you tried Marie Callender's Pot Pies? How do you stay cozy?

Although I prefer warm sunny weather I do love cozying up to fireplaces in PJs in the winter. That hot chocolate looks yummy and so does the pie! I will have to try it.

Oh man, needed those tonight! It's a busy time of year and I had one child sick and I had to take them to the doctor today. Dinner obviously got derailed. I will remember this for next time!

I honestly love having products like these available so on cozy nights at home where you don't want to invest in a full on homemade meal you can pull something like this out, and it's dinner made easy =)
