The other day I had an opportunity to check out the new happy hour food menu at Daily Grill. To introduce me to the menu, the food items were provided at no cost to me, however I paid for my beverage and for gratuity. All opinions are my own.
Happy hours are very popular here in Orange County and I am happy to share my recent experience at the Daily Grill with you. The Daily Grill is a hip and upscale restaurant that specializes in classic American Fare. There is one about 20 minutes from my work and the vibe in there is relaxing and casual.
I met my girlfriend after work and after a very busy day, I wanted to try a fun cocktail, so I ordered a Cucumber Mule to drink.
The Cucumber Mule which was amazingly refreshing and welcomed on this warm summer evening. The drink is made with ginger beer and it tasted like a cool, crisp breeze in a glass. It stayed cool in this tin cup. Wow! Seriously, why had I not heard of this drink before?
Of course, happy hour is not just about drinks, so we looked at the happy hour menu to select a few items to try. The happy hour menu has a variety of reasonably priced items to choose from. We started with the Chicken Quesadilla,
and the Chicken Cobb Sidekicks. Do you see how mouth-watering these look? They were as good as they looked!
Both of these were tasty and generously sized. Perfect for sharing with friends. Speaking of friends, this place was very popular as nearly every table in the bar area was filled. I looked around and the people there were chatting and laughing and having a great time (as were we). What a fun place to visit after work.
We wanted to try a couple more happy hour items and once again, we were not disappointed.
The Blackened Ahi Tostado was so flavorful and tasty, and the tuna melted in your mouth. These tostados made with ahi tuna, avocado and pineapple are served on wonton wraps and the wonderful balance of crispy and creamy was delightful! This was my favorite item.
Next we had to try the Sweet Potato Fries, which were also very good. They were cooked perfectly, not too crispy and just the right amount of tasty.
Featured cocktails were $6 at the location I visited, and several beers and the appetizers started at $4. What a great deal! Check your local restaurant for Happy Hour times and prices. If you try the Cucumber Mule, let me know how you liked it, because I loved it!
