This week I had a chance to check out the new EMC Seafood in Irvine. This eatery opened about three weeks ago and already seems like a very popular place.
It was early on a Sunday evening and the sleek and spacious restaurant was busy with families getting a start on their Sunday supper. The openness of the restaurant makes it a nice place to relax and their are TV’s in a few spots offers a chance to keep up on events, (or in our case, a golf tournament).
We ordered some cocktails from Kevin, our friendly and attentive server. I tried the white sangria while my hubby ordered one of their cold craft beers.
We started with some Fanny Bay Oysters while we perused the menu. Fresh from British Columbia, and served with cocktail sauce, horseradish, lime and jalapeno’s, these were fresh and satisfying. They have six types of oysters on their menu which is just a hint of the wonderful array of fresh seafood they offer.
My husband decided to try the Black Pepper Garlic Lobster. Made with garlic butter, black pepper , basil, green onions and a lovely fish sauce, this dish was tender, flavorful and delicious!
I ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet that was lightly seasoned and in my opinion, cooked perfectly. Flaky and fresh, it was a generous portion but that did not stop me from eating the entire fillet.
The Garlic Noodles were a nice addition to our meal. They complemented the seafood nicely and while they may seem like a simple dish, they were quite tasty and a great complement to our seafood.
While we had eaten everything, we opted for the Panna Cotta recommended by Kevin. A good choice as it offered a light sweetness to the end of our meal.
The meal was very good and I recommend a visit. I will be returning to EMC Irvine again. I hear that their Uni Pasta is terrific. Entrée prices run $14 and up are very reasonable for a top quality seafood restaurant. There is plenty of parking and there is a full bar area. The menu is extensive with seafood, but they also offer a few beef options as well.

Why do I come here when I’m hungry?
I have delved slowly into seafood as an adult. It started with crab cakes and clam chowder. I also LOVE salmon. Yum. And all white fish dishes. Yum again.
