DIY Home Decor Craft Idea Books

Sharing is caring!

This summer I have been enjoying scouting around for  DIY Home Decor Ideas. If you have been here a while, you know I love my crafting sessions with my mother and daughter each month. There is just something about creating something that comes from the heart that helps take my mind away.

I especially love making decor items for the home. While I get  some of my inspiration from Pinterest, I also have seen some great ideas in crafting books. Many of the DIY crafts in these books are for kids and adults ages 10 and up.

There are tutorials on everything from card making, to lettering to mason jars. Great for any time of year, I have been wanting to share with you my thoughts on each. I received most of these books free to review or were included in a conference swag bag.

From garden ideas like a mason jar bird feeder to outdoor wall sconces, this book has a ton of ideas. There are also sections on using mason jars in the kitchen and lots of cute unique storage ideas. The mason jar bell idea was one of my favorites, also makes a great end of summer gift for teens or relatives.

I have mentioned this book before. I just love Sharpies and this book is filled with Sharpie art ideas. If you know someone who loves Sharpies too, you will want to get then this book.  You may remember we decorated some pails for the 4th of July and some cute decorative mugs.

If you want to get a little gift for someone, get the book and these for that friend that loves to doodle.

Creative lettering is such a great skill to have. This book offers some inside as to the styles and techniques that make for wonderful decor.

More Creative Lettering by Jenny Doh I have been just floored with all of the beautiful DIY Decor projects I have seen people make with creative lettering. I took a calligraphy class back in middle school and have always loved it. I would love to get back to this and this book is filled with ideas on calligraphy styles, creative lettering and lettering processes.

Compiled from a number of creative artists, each contributor introduces their favorite writing instruments, letters, and instructions. If you love creative lettering, you will want to check out this book.

I've only gotten into crafting within the last year or two. It's strangely (or not so strangely) satisfying. The mason jar one has me too, just like Ashley.
