In case you didn't know, Divergent has opened in theaters across the nation. Divergent is a hunger games-esque series of books that are very popular with youth and adults alike. The Divergent Movie is finally here this weekend.
I am in the middle of the first book and it well it's a very easy read and also very entertaining. I won't tell you too much about it so as not to spoiled story or you. But basically is about a young heroine and her quest for identity, truth and direction in a futuristic world. In the story, youths must to choose a faction for life when they're 16 years old and live with other members of that faction. The factions are based on personal beliefs and opinions.
I seriously think that the movie is out it's going to be pretty huge. So I decided to make these faction cupcake toppers in celebration of the movies release.
I found some divergent stickers but you could also find the icons from the factions online.
I put the images on some black paper and used decorative scissors to trim the card stock. Then I attached the stickers to drinking straws with tape.
I added some sprinkles to each cupcake that corresponds with the faction pictured.
There are 5 major factions. The factions are based on beliefs and core values. The factions are:
- Amilty
- Candor
- Dauntless
- Abnegaton
- Erudite
I took the quiz at the end of the book (yes I peeked), and I am Erudite.
I am pretty sure all of the factions eat cupcakes.
Have you or your kids read any of the divergent books?
