Sharing is caring!

So Cal friends, get ready for some tasty bites Dine Out Long Beach, Restaurant Week 2.0 taking place February 28-March 5. If you love discovering new local restaurants like I do, this event is for you! As you know, I love exploring new eateries in the Los Angeles area and Long Beach offers so many great cafes, restaurants and bars. This event is a great way to try a restaurant's unique menu at a friendly price, plus it is a great excuse to go out for lunch and dinner - right?

Some 45 restaurants have signed up to offer prix fixe 2-selection lunches and 3-selection dinners. I was recently invited to visit some of the participating restaurants, which are located in almost every corner of the city, including downtown, Bixby Knolls, Belmont Shore, Naples Island, Belmont Heights, and 4th Street Retro Row. By the way, every restaurant situated in Shoreline Village, which overlooks Rainbow Harbor in downtown Long Beach, will be part of Dine Out Long Beach, too.

Restaurants will offer lunch and/or dinner with 2-option menus for lunch starting at $10 and 3-option menus for dinner starting at $20. Some restaurants are offering a shared menu where two guests can split an appetizer and dessert, but enjoy their own entrée.

As for settings and cuisines, California’s sixth largest city has an abundance of offerings, from the waterfront and Bixby Knolls to Downtown and Belmont Shore-Naples. You may have seen my recent thoughts on Russo's Neighborhood Ristorante and Bar . They are participating in this event! Long Beach is such a fun area to visit and is especially beautiful at night too!

By the way, on February 27, the day before Restaurant Week 2.0 begins, the public is invited to Dine Out Long Beach’s Chefs’ Cooking Series + Tasting at Friedman’s Appliances on Spring Avenue just off the 405 at Cherry. Five chefs from participating Dine Out Long Beach restaurants will conduct 30-60 minute cooking demonstrations every hour on the hour starting at 11am with the last offered at 3pm. Taste Wine-Beer-Kitchen will offer wine tastings throughout the day with Stella Artois pouring its classic Belgium beer. The event is free to attend and guest chefs will be announced in mid-February.

Also, be sure to check out the #Selfoodie contest at www.gazettes.com for a chance to win a 3 night trip to New York City where you can enjoy dinner for two at celebrity chef David Burke's fabrick!

Have you ever taken part in a restaurant week? I would love to hear about it!

Hi, I'm Raquel! I am a self-proclaimed foodie and have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was little. I loved baking cookies with my mother and grandma as a child, and later making dinners for my parents to foster my passion while in high school. I also had a passion for organizing and keeping things tidy.
