Color coding your keys

Today I used a quick and cheap way to identify my keys for easy identification with nail polish.  I painted the top of each key a different color of nail polish.  You can paint the entire key if you want, but I like just painting the tops.

After the key dries, you can leave the colors the way they are or if you want to make them look edgy, add a crackle polish finish to them.  The crackle polish adds a cool effect.

When the crackle finish dries, finish up with a cover coat and let dry. The keys will all be color coded and hopefully, save you a little time next time you need to find your key quickly.

Great idea. All my keys look different so I can identify them easily. But if they weren't, I would definitely be doing something like that.

I've seen keys painted with nail polish before but that crackle polish is way cool! I'd be thrilled if you want to link this up to my link party that just opened tonight! http://practicallyfunctional.net/2012/07/the-fun-in-functional-link-party-7/

WOW, Super smart! I have got to try this at home so we won't have to go through 10 keys before we get the right one lol. Thanks so much for linking up to Creative Thursday this week. I can't wait to see what you link up next. Have a great weekend.

Brilliant! So much better than those rubber things I can never get on the key.
