Happy Bastille Day! Bastille day commemorates the day when Parisian citizens stormed the Bastille prison and became the start of the French Revolution. It is a huge celebration in Paris and they prepare for it months in advance.
So in celebration of this Parisian holiday, I am sharing some photos from my trip to France a couple of years ago. Also, my friends and I are sharing some French-inspired recipes. Bienvenue!
We stayed at a hotel near Notre Dame Cathedral in the Left Bank.
This photo is from inside the Louvre museum. I could write a book about this amazing place. A must see if visiting Paris.
Here is me getting a little wind-blown from the top of the tour bus. These bus tours are a great way to see highlights of the city for an overview. Then you can choose which places to tour.
But there is nothing like the Eiffel Tower at night for a spectacular sight.
Paris is an amazing city and I hope to go back again soon. There are tons of celebrations going on this weekend. The way I look at it, if you cannot get to France, you can still celebrate – right?
Here are some delicious recipes from my friends and I to bring a little bit of France to your home.
Layered Crème Brûlée Cheesecake from Will Cook For Smiles
Bean and Mushroom Provencal from Food Done Light
French Breakfast Muffins from Persnickety Plates
Julia Child’s Ratatouille for #SundaySupper from Cupcakes and Kale Chips
Blood Orange Macarons from je suis alimentageuse
Simple Crepes from Organized Island
Bon appétit! What is your favorite French dish?

These might be some of my favorite recipes yet. Macarons are my thing. I have to try them all always. My friends live in Paris right now for school and work. They normally live in NY. They’ve only been there under a year and have seen so many wonderful things. I watched them post pictures over the weekend of the celebrations. Amazing! I’ve never been but maybe one day.

Oh I bet those photos were awesome. It is a really big event over there. Any chance you can visit them while they are there? I bet you could get some awesome photos!

I love crepes. I used to make my batter from scratch until I found ones that are ready made. It’s not as thin as I’d like, but certainly more convenient. Nice pictures of Paris.

I have to try those ready made ones sometime. I have loved crepes since I was a kid!

Your pictures make me want to be in Paris like Yesterday! Thanks for the tip on taking a tour bus, I’ll add that to my planning list! All these recipes look yummy. I can’t believe it was just last year that I finally ate a macaroon. My friend took me to this shop in NYC called Laduree. She had been to their Paris location and loved it.
Organizedisland says
Nice! Laduree hast the best ones! They are as pretty as they are tasty!

All of these meals sound amazing! And now my wanderlust for France is even worse! Laduree is definitely a must-stop if I ever make it to Paris!
