I am always a little sad when August rolls around. It is sort of like the Sunday of weekends. Even though we still have a few more weeks, the stores I have been in lately are reminding me that fall is nearly here. Not that I mind seeing the pumpkins and back to school stuff, it is just that I have a few things I still want to do this summer.
Summer has always been my favorite season and l know it won't last forever, but I am trying a few ways to make the days go a little slower and truly embrace myself in the season. It is truly the small moments that create memories that last a lifetime.
So in that spirit, I made something similar to a summer bucket list, yet really more like a summer awareness checklist. Here are my suggestions to truly take in the warm, sunny days.
- Cook up some zucchini with one of these easy zucchini recipes.
2. Have a barbecue with friends...
3. Go to the beach at least a few more times...
4. Watch a summer sunset...
5. Make one of these refreshing summer cocktails. There are a few here that sound absolutely wonderful and I honestly do not think there are enough days to make them all.
6. Make a few of these fresh summer salads
7. Go to brunch with friends and enjoy some mimosas...
8. Go to an outdoor concert or concert in the park...
9. Make something with succulents. I have been meaning to make something this summer and just have not carved out the time. Here are some great succulent craft ideas.
10. Scale Back on Social Media
It has been such an eventful year with the loss of my mother and I truly want to enjoy each day and be present in the moment. I have actually already started scaling back on the social media. I feel like lately social media has become more of a distraction and takes away from my focus. As a productivity manager, I know it is really important to filter out the things trying to overwhelm your life.
Do you ever feel that way? What do you want to do before summer ends?
