DIY Invitations

I have been in a crafty mood lately. I went to the CHA show last weekend and was so inspired by all the new products that are available from craft companies! Recently, Fiskar's sent me some new products to try to I could not wait to craft with them. These new Fiskars Thick Materials Shape punches can punch through the thicker paper and some recycled materials!

So I had to test these. First I used it to make a cute award party invitation.

I used the (aff. link) Fiskars Thick Star Punch to punch some thick sparkling cardstock, which is made out of cardboard that is thicker than a cereal box. The punch worked great and was so easy to use. According to Fiskar's these punches are able to cut through aluminum and milk jugs. The cutout stars would be perfect for a tablescape too!

Below are the supplies I used to create these.

Award Party Invitation Supplies:

  • cardstock
  • printed invites
  • sparkly cardstock
  • Fiskars Heavy Star Punch
  • glue stick

So next, I decided to try the punch on cork paper.  I made some cute gift buckets for friends for Valentine's Day using the Fiskars Heavy Circle Punch. This punch was great for  It cut through the cork easily!

This thick circle punch is great for cork!

These cork circles were really fun and I used them to embellish these gift sets.

Valentine's gifts come together quick with some washi tape and punches!

I also used the cork for stickers for my planner. How fun is that? If you are a bit of a planner addict like I am, you know how fun it is to create new stickers for them.

I saw some beautiful party decorations made from this punch with glitter Duck tape when I was at CHA. This photo was taken from a display at the Duck Brand booth. You can use a circle punch to make this fun door decor idea.

One other cool punch I must share is the (aff. link) Fiskars TagMaker Punch with Built-in Eyelet Setter. Talk about a wonderful time-saver! This punch, not only cutes the tag out, but it also punches and sets an eyelet! You can make tags in seconds! How cool is that?

This punch does double duty - it makes a tag and adds an eyelet!

I would recommend these punches if you love to craft as I do.  I love them and cannot wait to use them on more projects. Special thanks to Fiskars for providing me with some of these items to play with! All opinions are my own.

Do you own any craft punches?

WOW! So many great punches! I fell in love with the mixed media scissors they introduced a few years ago and it sounds like their punches are extra heavy duty now too! So awesome!

Ohh. FUN! I love this time of year. I hate it but I think that's why I love it too. It means that winter is somewhat moving through and will give up its icy reign! Superbowl and award show party fun!
